One hurt after tractor trailer rollover in Yates Co.

JERUSALEM, N.Y. (WENY) -- One person was hurt after a semi-truck rolled over on Italy Hill in Jerusalem late Friday night.

According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office, 66-year-old Alexei Plavan of Virgina, was driving down the roadway, allegedly blew a stop sign at a high rate of speed, then tried to turn onto State Route 54A but crashed and rolled over.

Law enforcement say the tractor trailer collided with gas pumps at a local business, sending gas leaking around the scene, and ripped down electrical wires as well.

The crash happened near the intersection of State Route 54A and Guyanoga Rd around 11:40 p.m. Friday.

Plavan was treated for head injuries and transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital. The Yates County Sheriff says charges against the driver are pending.
