Police: Elmira woman arrested on attempted murder charge after shooting

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- An Elmira woman was arrested Tuesday night after a reported shooting on West Gray St., according to Elmira Police.

Police say Alexiya Sutton is charged with Attempted Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Police detained her as a suspect after they arrived on scene to a reported shooting on the 700 block of West Gray St. shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Sutton is currently in custody of law enforcement as she awaits arraignment.
