CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Guthrie Corning Hospital was given over $1.8 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency emergency protective measures against COVID-19, according to Congressman Nick Langworthy.

"I’m proud to secure this crucial funding for Guthrie Corning Hospital," said Langworthy. "This FEMA grant is exactly the type of support our communities need to ensure that hospitals have the resources necessary to provide essential care and meet the heightened demands brought on by the pandemic. By delivering these critical resources, we are empowering our healthcare providers to keep our communities safe and healthy.”

The money can be used to support previous contracted staff at the hospital, sustain its operations, support workers and keep people safe.
