PENN YAN, N.Y. (WENY) -- Wager's Cider Mill in Penn Yan will host an Apple Festival this weekend on Saturday, October 5. This will be the first celebration of its kind for the family-owned business.

The festival will help the community ring in the fall and harvest season and will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Admission to Wager's Apple Festival is free.

Wager's Cider Mill has planned a lineup of family-friendly activities for all to enjoy. This includes a U-Pick-style apple area for families to partake in, free face painting for kids, and even a petting zoo with a one-dollar admission charge.

Additionally, several vendors will set up at the festival with a variety of treats and goods for guests to check out. Some of the vendors include Oh Fudge, Kass's Kettle Corn, Juju's BBQ, Bluff Point Blooms, and Shear Skin. All vendors will accept cash.

Of course, apple treats will be the biggest highlight among food vendors. There will be mini apple pies, cider donuts, sweet cider, cider slushies, and more. Hard cider can also be purchased by those 21 and up. That purchase will include free apple and cheese tastings.

On the day of the event, parking at Wager's will be limited. So, visitors will be directed to Sherman Street, the back parking lot of the American Legion, or the Yates County Fairgrounds.

Wager's Cider Mill is located at 256 East Main Street in Penn Yan. For more information on the Apple Festival, you can check out the Wager's Cider Mill Facebook Page.
