UPDATE: One person dead after motorcycle crash in Elmira Heights

UPDATE: 9/30/24 11:25 a.m. -- The Elmira Heights Police Department confirmed that the person injured in a motorcycle crash has passed away. Police identified him as 28-year-old Tyler Booth of Corning. 

Booth was treated on the scene of the crash before being transferred to Arnot Ogden Hospital and then Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WENY) -- At least one person was injured after a motorcycle crash Friday night in Elmira Heights. The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Oakwood Avenue, in between 16th Street and 17th Street.

WENY's reporter on scene saw a bike on the ground as well as two ambulances near the accident.

No word from first responders as of publishing on the motorcyclists injuries or what caused the crash.
