Police investigating murder-suicide in Penn Yan

PENN YAN, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Penn Yan Police Department says officers are investigating a likely murder-suicide in the Village, after an adult man and woman was found shot inside a home.

According to police, the man was shot numerous times, while the woman was shot once. Law enforcement have not released the names of those involved because they are still trying to notify all next of kin.

Police were notified after a family member arrived home shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday to find them both dead. The bodies were taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy.
