Police 'situation' on Burlingame Rd. in Schuyler County shuts down road

UPDATE 9/6/2024 12:00 P.M. -- Police have spoken with a WENY reporter on scene and say they are looking for an individual who was not present at that location.

Authorities are now looking elsewhere for the person.

Police say this individual poses no threat to the public.

SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- There is currently a police presence on Burlingame Road in Schuyler County with police turning traffic around and officers seen on the scene with rifles. While the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office has remained tight lipped about what is going on, they did tell WENY News that it is not a standoff, and would only describe what is going on as a, 'situation.'
