Police: Bath man arrested for brandishing illegal rifle at children

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Bath Police Department announced Monday that they arrested a Bath man for allegedly getting into an argument with children and brandished an illegal firearm at them.

According to police, the incident happened Wednesday near the Bath Central School soccer field at a home on Charles St. Police say Daryck Rawleigh, 31, got into a verbal dispute with a group of children and displayed an illegal AR-15 assault weapon.

Law enforcement found Rawleigh in the home and arrested him, recovering the rifle as well. He is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, three counts of Menacing and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Rawleigh was taken to the Steuben County Jail to await court proceedings.
