WELLSBORO, PA. (WENY) -- A benefit concert for flood victims in Tioga County, Pennsylvania raised over $5,000 on Friday.

Over 150 people attended the fundraiser that was hosted by the Wellsboro a cappella group Pine Pitch inside the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts.

According to organizers, most of the money donated was given at the concert, bringing in over $3,400 in cash and checks. Another $1,600 was donated before the concert began.

"The Deane Center provided us with theater space; Jeff Ahlum provided the use of his sound equipment and volunteered his time to run sound for the event; Kevin Thomas volunteered to serve as emcee; Pine Pitch A Cappella and Joe Callahan and Molly Cary of the House of Sterling performed; and Karin Knaus, a Pine Pitch member who lives in Westfield shared heart wrenching stories about some of the people impacted by the flood water. The outpouring of love from our community was evident," said Kacy Hagan, the Concert Organizer for Pine Pitch.

Donations are still being accepted. Checks can be made payable to the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health with flood relief written in the memo. Checks can be dropped off or mailed to 33 Pearl Street, Wellsboro, Pa. 16901. You can also donate online here.

One hundred percent of the funds collected will be used to help flood remediation efforts in Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
