Man Serving Life for 2010 Steuben Co. Double Murder Dies in Prison

DANNEMORA, NY (WENY) -- Bryan Ashline, who was serving a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend and three month old son in Steuben County in 2010, has died in prison.

According to the New York State Department of Corrections, Ashline was pronounced dead at 11:37PM on December 24th, after receiving emergency medical attention at Clinton Correctional Facility. The cause of death is being determined by the Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office. 

Ashline was serving ten years into a life prison sentence for the June 2010  murders of Trieste Clayton, and the couple's infant son, Xavier. Ashline was convicted in 2011 of first degree murder, aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon. 

On Father's day 2010, Ashline stabbed Trieste and Xavier to death at her home in Bath, before fleeing and was later arrested. He was sentenced to life in prison on December 21st, 2011.
