Elmira Junior Enforcers to play remaining USPHL home games at First Arena

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - The Elmira Junior Enforcers and new operators of First Arena, Mammoth Sports and Entertainment announced on Monday that the Junior Enforcers will play its 8 remaining home USPHL home games on the schedule at First Arena.

The team will be back at First Arena for games on Saturday, January 8th at 7:35 PM, and Sunday, January 9th at 4:05 PM when they host the Jersey Whalers. The Junior Enforcers previously partnered with Elmira College and were playing their home games at the Murray Athletic Center.

President of Mammoth Sports and Entertainment, Steve Donner, Elmira Junior Enforcers Head Coach, Glenn Patterson, and team President, Tim Kolpien released the following statements on Monday.

"One of our goals coming in here from the beginning was to give fans an exciting product on the ice they could get behind as quickly as possible. Having a high level of hockey back in First Arena that the Junior Enforcers can provide for the next couple of months will be great for the community.” said Donner.

“As an organization we are excited to be back hosting games in First Arena,” exclaimed head coach Glen Patterson. “It’s a building where this team has had a lot of success along with some great memories. And of course, I played there professionally. We look forward to building new memories in that arena.”

“Elmira College stepped up to partner with us when the arena situation was uncertain and we can’t thank them enough,” remarked team President Tim Kolpien. “The Domes are an outstanding facility for us to practice and play games and we continue to call that home. At the same time, we are eager to give local hockey fans high-quality, high-speed hockey back downtown for our remaining eight home games this season.”

During the 2020-21 season, the Junior Enforcers were 4-0 at First Arena, then they played the rest of their schedule on the road due to COVID-19 restrictions before returning to First Arena for the playoffs where they swept through the first tow rounds to make it to Nationals in their inaugural season.
