Waverly Police Identify Body Found in Waverly Glen Park
UPDATE 11/17/22 -- Waverly police identified the body found in Waverly Glen Park as 30-year-old Thomas Bellows, Jr. of Waverly.
According to police, no foul play is indicated. Waverly police are waiting autopsy results at this time.
Police were assisted in the search effort by Tioga County New York Search and Rescue, New York State Park Police, New York State Police, Waverly-Barton Fire Department, Greater Valley EMS, Bradford County Emergency Services, Lockwood Fire Department, Bradford County Drone Team, and the Tioga County Coroner's Office.
UPDATE 11/10/22 (6:45 PM) -- According to Waverly Police, a body was found at Waverly Glen Park following a search Thursday afternoon. Police say that no foul play is suspected.
Family members of the deceased individual have been notified.
An investigation will follow.
WAVERLY, NY (WENY) -- The entrance to Waverly Glen Park is closed off, as emergency personnel are on scene for a search and rescue operation.
Details are limited at this time; authorities on scene tell WENY News they are searching for a male believed to be lost in the woods. A mobile command center has arrived and is setting up on scene.
Waverly Glen Park contains hiking trails, and is adjacent to Two Rivers State Park, which also contains a network of trails.
