Multiple fire crews battle fire in Horseheads
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Roughly a dozen fire emergency crews battled a trailer fire in Horseheads Sunday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., the trailer at 54 Level Acres drive was completely engulfed in flames and thick black smoke when firefighters arrived at the scene.
According to Fire Chief Sean McInerney of Town and Country Fire Department in Horseheads, the fire spread quickly to the neighboring trailer; engulfing part of it in flames as well.
The neighboring trailer wasn't completely destroyed. However, the initial trailer that caught fire was a complete loss.
Additional emergency aid, including the County tanker task force, was requested for backup. The Fire Chief says there are no known injuries at this time, and everyone was evacuated safely.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and is still under investigation.
