UPDATE: According to a press release put out by the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, at around 1 PM, the department was called out to a barn fire at 5641 Thomas Road. Upon arriving, they found the barn in flames.

Fire departments from Avoca, Hammondsport, Kanona, and Savona were also called to the scene.

The barn housed 4 horses and a calf. All the horses were in the pasture, but unfortunately the calf was lost in the fire. Strong winds caused the spread of the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation by the Steuben County Fire Investigation team.
