Bus fire shuts down part of I-81 Northbound

Barker, NY (WENY) -- The Northbound lane on I-81 near Barker has reopened following a fire.
Just before 2:00 PM a New York State Trooper with the traffic incident team saw a charter bus that was on fire. Troopers from Whitney Point were also on scene.
Troopers say the bus was heading to Syracuse after leaving from Long Island. The bus was carrying 42 passengers. Troopers say four people were injured-one was transported to Wilson hospital for burns, two people suffered smoke inhalation and sent to Binghamton General and another was checked on the scene but wasn’t transferred.
Lanes were shut down for just under two hours.
