Update: Breesport home deemed total loss after massive fire

UPDATE 4/9 [12:00 P.M.] -- The home involved in Thursday night's massive fire has been deemed a total loss by fire officials. Breesport Fire Chief Ron Grose confirmed to WENY News more details on Friday.
An adult couple were inside the home at the time it caught fire. They did not sustain any injuries and were able to get their dogs out in time. Sadly, "several" cats were lost. There were no injuries to any firefighters during the incident.
Chief Grose says the fire appears to have started on the first floor, however a cause has not yet been officially determined at this time.
BREESPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- A home is presumed to be severely damaged or totally destroyed after a fire in Breesport on Thursday night.
The fire happened sometime around 7:45 p.m. on Mallory Hill Road.
At one point during the fire, mutual aid was requested to respond. The WENY News photographer on scene says thick smoke and flames could be seen roadside.
