ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A barn fire in Elmira is under investigation. WENY News was on the scene at West Hill Road around 5:00 this morning. Our reporter spoke with the Deputy Chief of the City of Elmira Fire Department.

WENY News was told the barn burned to the ground and there were no occupants inside at the time. Firefighters faced complications with access to water. They had to drive a half a mile down the street to fill up tankers and bring them back to the scene. Four departments were called to the scene. City of Elmira, West Elmira, Elmira Heights and Big Flats were there.

No injuries were reported. This investigation is active and ongoing.
