One teen killed, four others injured after crash in Erin
UPDATE: The Horseheads Central School District confirms four of five students involved in Friday night's crash, including the 17-year-old who passed away, were students of the District. A fifth passenger in the car was from Elmira.
The district is making resources available to students who may want to talk to a counselor, school psychologist, social worker, or trusted adult. Below is a letter provided to district families on Saturday.
ERIN, N.Y. (WENY) -- A teenager is dead, and four others were injured after a crash in Erin on Friday night.
According to New York State Police, 17-year-old Aleceia I. Sedlak was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, both passengers, were airlifted from the scene. The male was taken to Robert Packer Hospital, the female to Upstate Medical. The 17-year-old female driver and another 17-year-old passenger were taken to Robert Packer via ambulance.
The crash happened on Langdon Hill Road, near Staples Road, around 8:30 p.m.
Troopers say the operator of the car lost control and left the roadway, striking several trees. It was the only car involved in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation.

New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, Erin and Breesport Fire Department and Erway Ambulance.
