UPDATE (6:00 p.m.) New York State Police have confirmed a 2-year-old child was found dead at a trailer park on Wyncoop Creek Road in Van Etten. 

According to troopers, they initially responded to reports of an unresponsive child Tuesday morning, but when they arrived to the trailer, they say the child was already dead. 

At this time, investigators say they don't believe there is any threat to the public. 

The investigation is ongoing. WENY News will provide updates on air and online as they become available. 

VAN ETTEN, N.Y. (WENY) -- New York State Police have confirmed to WENY News they are investigating a death that reportedly happened in a Van Etten trailer park. 

State police first responded to the reports around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Wyncoop Creek Road Location. 

Investigators tell WENY News the investigation is still in its preliminary stages. Because of this, they could not release any information about the individual or the nature of the death.
