CAMERON, N.Y. (WENY) – Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a body was reportedly found in the Town of Cameron.

According to the sheriff's office, the body of James Stage Jr, 55, was recovered from a pond outside his McMaster Road home on August 30.

Stage was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner and transported to the Broome County Medical Examiner for autopsy.

The sheriff's office was assisted by members of the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department.
