GoFundMe page: Teen involved in Memorial Day drowning in Horseheads passes away

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- According to a GoFundMe page, the teen victim in the Memorial Day drowning in Horseheads has passed away.
According to the page, Michael Parker passed away on Wednesday after the Monday incident. The GoFundMe appears to have been created by a member of the victim's family.

"Michael Parker passed away 5-30-18 do to a drowning accident that happen on 5-28-18 Memorial Day. This has been hard on the family and all the children who have met Mikey. We are Asking for a little help in making sure everyone effected by Mikey unexpected death has closer. I’m amazed by many lives that Mikey has impacted in this short life. Mikey had a big heart and showed compassion for all. He loved worshiping God, Playing in the band, singing and writing songs. Despite a Default life growing up he managed to be a light in darkness. Mikey had a way the make you smile with beautiful light in his eyes!"
Just hours after the Monday afternoon tragedy, Troopers in Horseheads told WENY News that the 16-year-old teen was last known to be in guarded condition at the hospital.
The drowning happened around 5:15 p.m. Monday, near the gravel pits just off of East Franklin Street. The gravel pit and pond is geographically located between Route 13 and Old Ithaca Road. According to scanner reports on the day of the incident, first responders were called out to the scene for reports of a person in the water who did not resurface. Minutes later, another scanner reported indicated that the victim was pulled out of the water, and CPR was started.
As of Wednesday, according to police records, New York State Police charged two 18-year-old men with trespassing. Both men were given appearance tickets for the violation. One of the men is from Horseheads. Their names were not released by the authorities.
