Suspect in Corning murder appears back in court

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Loyd Neurauter was back in court Monday afternoon for a standard omnibus motion proceeding. The court proceeding gave both the defense, and Neurauter's lawyer, a chance to flesh out scheduling conflicts and go through what evidence the defense will be able to use in trial. They were also able to discuss any additional motions and setting up the next hearing.During the proceeding, Steuben County district attorney, Brooks Baker says they've prepared sixty-four thousand pages of material for this case.
"It speaks to how much investigation has gone into this case," said Steuben County District Attorney, Brooks Baker. "This is a case that was investigated by teams of officers. We've discussed that before. Thirty or forty investigators at times. There are thousands of pages based upon hundreds of search warrants, dozens of interviews. It speaks to how much sort of leg work went into developing this case."
Neurauter is being charged with first degree murder, along with a slew of other charges, in connection with the murder of his ex-wife Michelle back in August. During the proceeding, his lawyer also brought up concerns about a possible undisclosed deal with between the DA's office and Neurauter's daughter, Karrie. But Baker says every deal they've made with her has been on the record and documented.
As we previously reported, Karrie pleaded guilty to murder back in March. She admitted to helping her father Lloyd, but not physically killing her mother. Lloyd Neurauter is expected to be back in court on June 27, at 9:30AM.
