City of Elmira to hold workshops on proposed 2018 budget

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - The Elmira City Council and Mayor Dan Mandell will hold three workshops in January to review the 2018 proposed budget.
City Manager Michael Collins unveiled a tentative $32 million spending plan that would include a 17% property tax increase.
The workshops will be held with the City Council from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 4 and 5, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 11.
They will be open to the public, but public comments are not allowed.
The workshops are being held in the Law Library on the third floor of Elmira City Hall.
The council will schedule a public hearing at a future date so the public can comment on the proposed budget.
