Good news for dairy farmers in Pennsylvania, the minimum price of milk is going up.
The Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board is temporarily increasing the minimum price to soothe hurting dairy farmers. The premium paid to farmers is going up by 23%. That's about an extra .50 per hundredweight of milk.
For consumers, you can expect to pay about four cents extra per gallon. The price change starts November 1st and ends before the end of the year.
Pennsylvania is the nation's fifth largest dairy state.
