Local | State | National | World Regional News Search Regional News: Back Rebates For Energery-Efficient Appliances Ted Fioraliso Saturday, October 17, 2009      New York State consumers could get a break next year buying certain energy-efficient appliances.      Gov. David Paterson is asking for federal approval of a program.  That would give rebates to people who buy Energy Star-rated appliances.      Paterson says the state could issue 170,000 rebates totaling nearly $17 million.      It would reduce the cost of refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dishwashers during President's Week in February.      Rebates would range from $50-105 for a single unit, with more savings on packages.
