Local | State | National | World Regional News Search Regional News: Back Trash Burning Prohibited Starting 10/14 Ted Fioraliso Tuesday, October 13, 2009      The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is extending restrictions on residential trash burning.      Effective Wednesday at midnight, open burning is prohibited throughout the state.  There will be some exceptions at limited times for burning tree limbs and branches.      The goal is to reduce pollution and help prevent wildfires.      The State Environmental Board approved the ban last month.
