CORNING -- Even though there's no national race this year, the race for Corning mayor and four city council seats was important enough to bring voters to the polls.
“Everybody’s talking about the roads, not happy about there. And I'm tired of the crap that's going on in the city council too,” said Corning voter Marilyn O’Connell. “I don't like the infighting that's going on, the pettiness. It's like, grow up.”
“I think the roads, and the fact that the taxes are going up so high that it's almost impossible to keep up with them. They need to do something about brining businesses in that may help alleviate the tax burden on the citizens,” said Corning voter Maryann Tombasco.
“There isn't enough for the youth and education, and I think we need to get that together,” said Corning voter Sylvia Burning.
