OWEGO-- A historical building in the Village of Owego is about to get a facelift. The Village is getting $150,000 as part of the 2010 Intererior Appropriations Bill to renovate the historic Owego municipal building in the Village of Owego. An additional $20,000 will be used from the village reserves. Mayor Ed Arrington says the village will use the funding to replace the roof, front steps, part of the facade and make it energy efficient. He says it's a way to beautify the village while getting Owego back to its roots. "When you look at the Village of Owego, it's been here since 1776, it's a historic building, a railroad used to run through here, this was a boom town at one time and there's a lot of history here," Arrington said. To get the funding, the Senate still needs to pass the bill and President Obama needs to sign it.
