HORSEHEADS -- The Horseheads High School Marching Band is headed to the state finals in Syracuse for the 25th year.
The students have been practicing hard since August and it's all coming down to this moment.
Some of them have been practicing since an early age. Valerie Cady, a Senior, says she started playing the trumpet in 4th grade and got involved in the band because she saw he sister do it and became interested.
Matthew Hobler, also a senior, says "I've done my best all four years and I'm so sad to leave after 4 years so I'm going to miss it."
Their band instructor Tina Matejka has been with these students since the beginning. She says, "the kids are just great and it really exemplifies excellence begets excellence everyone wants to be a part of something really good."
And it's clear...they're all very passionate about their talents.
Marcus Herndon, a senior, says, "I think we're going to do really well our show is really amazing. It's very difficult and we can all cope with the difficulty and I think we're going to place high."
So this Saturday...they'll put their talent to the test and celebrate a job well done.
117 students are in the band this year, making it bigger than past years and we're all wishing them good luck in Syracuse this weekend!
