WAVERLY-- It may not be Halloween just yet, but some kids in Waverly are already stocking up on candy. Firefighters in Waverly invited kids down to the fire station Thursday night to go trick or trunking. Kids walked around to the different car trunks to collect candy. Firefighters say because homes in Waverly are spaced so far apart, this is a safer trick or treating method that keeps kids off streets with traffic. There were kids of all ages, in all types of costumes. "I have a daughter, she's an angel today, it's the only time of the year. My son, he's a little ninja," said Joe Frank, Waverly. "It's a nice area to bring little ones together so they dont have to walk to far and it also brings the firefighters together to serve their community in other ways than just firefighting," said Joanne Condame, Waverly. They also had hot dogs, cider and donuts for the families who came out.
