TIOGA COUNTY-- Fortuna Energy had three of its permits revoked because of technical deficiencies at a drilling site in Pennsylvania. The Department of Environmental Protection revoked three erosion and sedimentation control permits previously issued to Fortuna and Ultra Resources. Both companies had violations at sites in Tioga County. Violation letters were sent to the people who prepared the applications. "While we believe that some of the items cited may reflect technical misunderstandings or misperceptions, we intend to quickly address each and every item listed in the department's letter with revised plans and replacement permit applications,"Fortuna Energy President James O'Driscoll said in a prepared statement. In its letter to the professionals who prepared the applications, DEP warns them that additional enforcement action may be taken against them.
