BINGHAMTON -- Binghamton University students are voicing their anger at Gov. David Paterson's latest round of budget cuts. As we told you earlier this month, SUNY faces the greatest cuts of any state agency -- $90 million. Last weekend, the SUNY Student Assembly passed a resolution authorizing Binghamton to lead the charge to prevent the cuts. Members of the Binghamton Student Association are going around campus asking students, teachers, and employees to sign a petition they'll send to the governor. “I hope that the state sees that with these increases, we deserve to keep most of the money, because it is an investment in New York State's future to keep the money in these universities,” said Student Association vice president of programming, Aaron Cohn. The Student Association will hold a rally Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at "the spine" between the New Union and the library on the B.U. campus.
