Reporter/Videographer: WENY-TV is looking for a future award-winner who's ready for that first big break. This is a One-Person-Band position. By shooting, reporting and editing your own stories, you’ll learn every aspect of news gathering and production. Fill in anchoring may also be required. We shoot on mini-DV and edit on Media 100 and Adobe Premiere non-linear systems. Familiarity with one or two of the above is a plus. Proficiency in non-linear editing is a must. We expect you to bring story ideas on a regular basis. We’re located in the gorgeous Finger Lakes region of New York, close to many major northeast cities.

Master Control / Camera Operator: Candidate should be flexible and able to perform a variety of tasks from camera operator to switching on-air programming, live and recorded. Record satellite feeds. Record and segment commercials and long-form programming in Sony MAV-70 server. Operate server and audio board during studio newscasts. Maintain transmitter and programming logs and discrepancy reports. Experience with non-linear video editing (Premiere, Media-100, Avid etc.) would be helpful. Previous experience with audio / video in a broadcast environment desired, but will consider trainee with technical background or training in another field. Thorough understanding of basic computer operations on Microsoft Windows platform is absolutely essential to be considered for this position.
